The Deputy National Secretary General of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Comrade Ogochukwu Isioma, has said that election into the various elective positions in the association’s Campus Monitoring Committee (CMC), Edo state axis, is expected to hold soon.
Ogochukwu disclosed this while being received at the Police Force headquarters, Benin city, on Friday.
Ogochukwu, who was on a working visit to the command headquarters, said he was overwhelmed with the warm welcome accrued to him.
He said that the Campus Monitoring Committee once inaugurated, will be charged with the responsibility of carrying out the day-to-day running of the affairs of the association at the state level. He therefore urged for the command’s support towards the CMC when fully inaugurated.
On his part, the state command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was delighted to have been found worthy of such visit.
He assured that the state Police command will always play its part in ensuring that crime rate in tertiary institutions in the state is brought to a very minimal and bearable condition. This he said is in accordance with the principles and norms of the Police Commissioner, CP Johnson Babatunde Kokumo.
He reassured the visiting union leaders of the command’s unalloyed support towards the association and its leaders, while calling on students across the state to be law abiding always.
