President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Danielson Bamidele Akpan, GCNS on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 departed Nigeria for Kigali, Rwanda to participate in the 7th African Students and Youth Summit.
Comrade Bamidele is attending the summit as NANS President, at the instance of the All-African Students Union (AASU), under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Rwanda in collaboration with Pan-African Movement.
The summit is being hosted by the Rwandan National Students’ Association in Kigali, Rwanda from July 24 to 28, 2018.
The theme of this years summit is: “PAN-AFRICANISM: A Paradigm Shift Towards Achieving The SDGs And AU Agenda 2063; The Role Of The Youth Count”.
This years summit, through a combination of plenary sessions and series of interactive workshops, will bring to focus, the crucial issues affecting students and young people around the world, and take action through the SDGs Agenda 2063 to ‘create’ the world.
Most importantly, the summit will explore the inter-linkages between Pan-Africanism, the SDGs and the AU’s Agenda 2063, and suggest ways on how young people should be engaged as strategic partners to drive these key developmental paradigms.
His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Rwanda and African Union Chair, H.E Paul Kagame, Heads of state, Vice Presidents, Ministers of Youth and Education, Senior Government officials and other relevant stakeholders, are expected to deliver keynote address at the summit.
