Crisis is currently brewing in Ebonyi State University over the SUG President, Ogbu Emmanuel inability to account for N10 million reportedly given to students by governor of the state, David Umahi.
CAMPUS GIST reliably gathered that Umahi during the Christmas celebration in 2018 gave N10 million to Emmanuel to share to students as Christmas package.
According to our source, Emmanuel allegedly spent the N10 million without giving the students their own share of the money.
Meanwhile, a statement obtained by CAMPUS GIST reportedly issued by Emmanuel, has shown how he spent the N10 million.
In the statement, Emmanuel claimed that;
* N4 million was spent on repair of SUG buses,
* N2 million was shared between the SUG officials,
* N1.5 million was used to appreciate an undisclosed body,
* N2.5 million was used to settle cult clash.
CAMPUS GIST reports that Emmanuel, despite listing what he allegedly did with the money, came under heavy criticism Wednesday afternoon.
A check on his Facebook page shows that the students are not hapy with him.
Facebook user, Ogeh Austine, who lambasted the SUG president over the issue, wrote; “You now see the reasons why youth will never rule this country even in the next generation to come.
“High level of incompetence, fraud, embezzlement, corruption, nepotism and misappropriation of public fund.
“Now money was given to you as Christmas package for students… Then you use it to visit undisclosed body.
“We no be fools (sic.) Ogbu Emmanuel. You don spoil your name ooo. We go meet for circular world Bro.”
Efforts to reach the embattled SUG president for comments were unsuccessful, just as messages sent to his line were not responded to as at press time.
